Our School 

Katie began dancing when she was 2 years old taking lessons in ballet, tap, jazz, modern dance, contemporary, lyrical and street dance. She danced at the Helen Laxton School of Dancing in Somerset and was also part of the Somerset Youth Dance Company for 6 years. She passed all of her Royal Academy of Dance ballet graded and vocational exams to Advanced level with excellent results as well as the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing modern dance exams to Intermediate level. 

At the age of 19 she began her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance in London, graduating in 2011 with Registered Teacher Status. In addition, Katie holds a Bachelors of Education and Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Teaching and is currently a senior teacher and SENCo at Bucklebury Primary School. 

Katie has 15 years experience in teaching ballet to children from 2 through to adults as well as 13 years working across the primary and secondary education system. Katie founded The Just Ballet School in 2021, having previously worked for other dance schools in Somerset, Dorset and Berkshire. Katie is fully registered with the Royal Academy of Dance, insured and DBS checked.
