On 14th December 2025, 135 dancers aged 2–65 took to the stage for our latest whole-school showcase, filling two auditoriums with festive sparkle and excitement. With the show taking place so close to Christmas, there was a wonderful sense of seasonal magic in the air, and every dancer stepped on stage with joy, confidence, and enthusiasm. From our newest dancers taking to the stage for the very first time to our seasoned performers returning for the third year in a row — some appearing in an incredible number of routines across both shows — the dedication, teamwork, and love of dance were clear to see. It was a privilege to watch our school come together once again and celebrate another unforgettable year of performance.
Our dancers were delighted to take part once again in Thatcham Thrives, our 4th year performing at a wonderful community event that brings together talented performers from dance schools across Berkshire. This year, our Junior and Senior Lyrical Teams joined forces to present a beautiful combined piece, showcasing their teamwork, musicality and developing performance skills. Dancing with confidence and enthusiasm in front of a supportive local audience, they represented the school brilliantly and helped contribute to a joyful celebration of creativity within our community.
We are delighted to celebrate a fantastic set of results from this year’s RAD Ballet examinations. Despite sitting their exams on the hottest two days of the year, our dancers showed incredible focus, resilience and dedication across Grades 2, 3, 4, 7 and Intermediate Foundation. We are thrilled to announce that we have maintained our 100% pass rate, with many pupils achieving excellent marks. A special congratulations goes to Alicia, who achieved the highest mark in the school, and to Chloe, who impressively completed three exams in just two days with outstanding results. We are also incredibly proud of Elodie, Lenka and Hollie, each of whom successfully took two exams — a real testament to their commitment and hard work.
This year also saw a wonderful milestone for our adult dancers, many of whom — ranging in age from their 30s through to their 60s — took their very first ballet exam. Their courage, determination and love of learning were truly inspiring, and we are so proud of everything they achieved. Well done to all our dancers for their perseverance, progress and passion for ballet.
Just Ballet School Students Dance in Pyjamas to Raise £250 for Comic Relief
Students at The Just Ballet School swapped their usual leotards and tights for comfy pyjamas last week in a special effort to raise funds for Comic Relief. The event, held during regular ballet classes, saw dancers of all ages and skill levels showing off their best pirouettes and pliés while dressed in cozy sleepwear.
The lighthearted and fun event was a hit with both students and parents, who generously donated to the cause. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation and support from the school community, the event successfully raised £250 for Comic Relief, helping fund projects aimed at tackling social inequality and poverty.
The pyjama-themed ballet classes not only brought a smile to everyone's face but also highlighted the power of community spirit in making a difference for those in need.
From 28th–30th August 2025, 25 enthusiastic dancers gathered at St Finian’s School in Cold Ash for our vibrant Carnival-themed Summer School. Across the three lively days, the dancers learnt five new routines inspired by the rhythm and energy of carnival celebrations, exploring a range of styles including ballet, modern/jazz, lyrical and contemporary. They also designed and created their own colourful costumes as part of a variety of art and craft activities. A much-loved tradition continued with our annual water fight — the perfect way to cool down and share some laughter together! On the final afternoon, the dancers proudly performed their work for families, bringing the joyful spirit of carnival to the stage.
On 24th November 2024, 132 dancers aged 2 - 67 took to the stage at Kennet School in Thatcham for our second annual whole school showcase. We performed to two sold out auditoriums. Every single dancer went on stage and performed with joy and sparkle making me very proud! Some of our oldest dancers performed in over 20 dances across the 2 shows and were in and out of costumes before you could blink! It was a joy to see the whole school come together and put on such a wonderful show!
From 29th-31st July, 25 dancers came together for our Summer School at St Finian's School in Cold Ash. Over the three days, we learnt 5 dances based on an olympic theme. The children did ballet, lyrical, contemporary and jazz dancing as well as a variety of craft activities. The weather was very warm, so to cool off on Tuesday afternoon we had some water games and a water fight! On Wednesday, we were very proud to put on a performance for our families.
The results for the Royal Academy of Dance summer exam session are in and I am proud to announce that we have achieved a 100% success rate. Everyone did extremely well but there were particularly impressive results for Shambhavi, Chloe , Eveylnn and Elodie along with Camille who passed her Vocational Intermediate Foundation Exam as well as her Grade 7. The hard work that everyone put in during their normal classes, exam lessons and while practising at home definitely paid off. Well Done!
